Scholarship Information Kit

 HESSIE MORRAH HORTICULTURE SCHOLARSHIP

·         An endowed $2000 award

·         Offered  to all tech/junior/4 year undergraduates and graduate students enrolled in  accredited institutions .

·         May apply as high school senior.

·         Encourages the study of agriculture, agronomy, botany, city planningfloriculture, land managements, landscape architecture, plant pathology, historic preservation or related majors.

BABS BARNETTE ENVIRONMENTAL SCHOLARSHIP

·         An endowed $500 award

·         Offered to rising junior or senior undergraduatesand graduate students.

·         May apply as college sophomore

·         Encourages the study of environmental control issues and allied courses. 

SANDIE  DUERKSEN SCHOLARSHIP

·         A $2,000 award

·         Offered to  high school senior whose permanent residence is located within one of seven GCSC districts

·         Have  family farming background

·         Applicants need prior experience in 4H, FFA, or other farm/argricultural experience

·         Pursuing agriculture/horticulture degree

·         Granted only when specific funds are available

GCSC DISTRICT SCHOLARSHIPS

·         A $500 award

·         Offered to all tech/junior/4 year undergraduate and graduate students whose permanent address is located within one of seven GCSC Districts.

·         May apply as a high school senior

·         Granted only when specific funds are available.

GCSC PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP

·         A $2000 award

·         A special award to an outstanding applicant whose record celebrates  academic excellence while demonstrating maturity,focus, and a passion for obtaining their long term goal of scholarly achievement.

·         Granted only when specific funds are available.  

PEARL FRYAR HORTICULTURAL SCHOLARSHIP

                  .       A $1000 award
                        GPA for this Award ONLY is a cumulative 2.5 on a 4.0 Scale

                  .       Available to students pursuing horticulture degrees through SC high schools, trade schools,
                            community colleges, junior colleges,and universities.

·          Granted only when specific funds are available. 

SAR SCHOLARSHIP

·         A $2000 award granted to only 1 candidate that best meets SAR criteria.

·         Submit application to GCSC Scholarship Chair. One candidate will be forwarded to SAR 

NGC SCHOLARSHIP

·         A $4000 award  granted by National Garden Club, Inc. .

·         Submit application to GCSC Scholarship Chair. One candidate will be forwarded to NGC (NOTE: Do not submit application to NGC)

We support the South Atlantic Region scholarship program which was created in honor of Corrie Whitlock, former GCSC President and the NGC Scholarship Program.  Forms for the Corrie Whitlock Memorial Scholarship and all GCSC sponsored  scholarships can be found listed below
